Praise the Lord for His goodness to us in our return to Brazil. We are getting settled in here as we prepare for our move to Pinda and the work there. There is much work to do and we are excited about the prospect of all that God will do.
Just before leaving the States, we were able to visit Sheridan Road Baptist Church in Saginaw, MI. We praise the Lord for the opportunity to present our ministry and to learn that they had partnered with us the week before we arrived.
Our Covid tests came back negative and we were able to get packed and boarded without many issues. We had a great flight back home and Bro. Ed and Dan Johnson were able to meet us and pick us up at the airport. What a joy it was to be able to share what the Lord did for us while we were in the States and to hear how the Lord continued to work in Taubaté.
As we get settled back in, getting our Portuguese back is a priority. When you don’t speak a language for 3 months you tend to lose a little bit of it. Thankfully, we’ve already had ample opportunity to use it and are getting back in the swing of things.
Please continue in prayer with us as begin the move over to Pinda. We will be getting the house ready over the next few weeks and will be working to find housing over there. We are confident that the Lord has everything already lined up exactly in his timing and are anxious to see just how He will move as we begin this journey with Victory Baptist Church. It’s been a wonderful time as we lay the groundwork for this endeavor. Our print materials are already underway. We are working on designing, printing, and shipping 50,000 John and Romans as well as tens of thousands of tracts in various designs. Please pray for each aspect of that process. Once our housing is established, we will begin the process of locating a building to rent. This will likely involve construction of some type. Please pray that Lord would be gracious to us in location, price, landlord, and state of the building. We’ve had several churches give or commit to helping us financially as we get started out. We are so grateful for their heart and generosity. Please pray that these funds would be sufficient and beyond to meet the needs of Victory Baptist Church.
I have been so challenged in my prayer life in recent days. I’ve had so many people ask me about starting a new work. This is what God has called us to do, but I am completely powerless in my own strength. No amount of training, know-how, or talent can replace what only the Spirit of God can do. Please join me in prayer for Victory Baptist Church. No, we don’t have a building. No, we don’t have a service schedule – yet. No, we don’t have offerings. But, there are so many hurting, needy people. There are so many opportunities to declare the Gospel in Pinda. Please pray that we’d have an open door as we begin this work and that Sunday, August 7, 2022, would truly be a day of God’s blessing when the doors of Victory Baptist Church open.
Thank you for your continued prayer and support of our ministry and family as we continue on here in Brazil. There is much work to do but we know that the Lord will go before us preparing the way for us. You all play such a big role in that.
