In a world drastically and rapidly changing, the only hope that we have is the Gospel of Jesus Christ and His glorious appearing. The hour is late. There is so much work to do! Perhaps the highlight of the month was being able to visit Antonio, the brother of Bro. Eduardo. Antonio is 77 years old and has lost his spouse and 3 of his 5 children through the years. He had never been to a Gospel preaching church, but he came with Bro. Eduardo the Sunday of our church camp. He heard the Gospel clearly but did not make a decision. I had the privilege of going and visiting him with Bro. Ed and 2 other men in the church. What a joy it was after an hour or so to see this man trust Christ as his Saviour. Bro. Eduardo and his family have been praying for him for years. God still answers prayer! That is the hope this world needs!
We always enjoy church camp during Carnaval and this year’s format was different, but God worked in a great way. Rather than going to a separate location, we had camp right in the church! The theme was “Revival!” and each of the messages God used to speak to my heart. I was able to preach Saturday morning from Hebrews 12 on holiness. God used it in my life as I was studying and preparing to point out sins and attitudes in my life that He wants to purge.
We received word that our John and Romans are being printed. The covers will be printed in April and Lord willing we should receive them by June or July. Please pray for this project. Fifty thousand John and Romans will be shipped to us and we’ll be distributing them in Pinda over the course of about 6 weeks in preparation for our August 7th inauguration. There is much work to be done and being done in preparation for that. Currently, we’re waiting to move ahead with the purchase of a home in Pinda and trying to close on that before the new baby arrives. Please be in prayer about every aspect of our move.
Bro. Jonata and I have been going to Pinda several times a month for a while now in planning, preparing, and praying for God to do a work. One of the first times we went there, I noticed a building for rent. It was on a busy thoroughfare in the neighborhood we’re targeting. That was nearly a year ago. Two weeks ago Bro. Jonata, Bro. Ed, and I went to look at it. It’s a great building that would be an ideal location for Victory Baptist Church. We are working on several aspects of this, but pray with us that if it’s the Lord’s will, we’d have that specific building.
I feel like I sound like a broken record, but we covet your prayers. I was joking with Jamie that we should plan a few more things for 2022 – a new baby, a new ministry, a new house (at some point!), school starting for Lainey, and who knows what else! It’s a busy time but there’s much work to do and so many are without hope and without God in this world. Thank you for loving us and sacrificing so we can continue to labor together here in Brazil for the sake of the Gospel!
