April is off and running and my – what an adventure it’s been already! In March, we enjoyed a week of encouragement with other missionaries at the annual BIMI field conference. During this week we were challenged with discipleship and encouraged by God’s Word to continue on! We also were able to enjoy the missions conference here at New Life Baptist Church. Praise the Lord the church doubled their mission’s giving commitment for the coming year!
I had the opportunity to make a visit with Bro. Tony to a 70-year-old lady name Emecyr. She is not saved and while she listened as we witnessed of the Gospel to her, she could not get over her guilt as a sinner worthy of hell. She’s gone through some very difficult situations in life and feels that she’s already been through hell. Please continue to pray for her to understand her lost condition and that she would be saved. I also had the privilege to meet Rafael in the line at a restaurant a few weeks ago. He’s a Jew and had lived in the US for a bit and then studied in Israel. He asked me what I was doing in Brazil and it opened the door to speak of Christ to him. He said of course that “Jesus didn’t fulfill all the law, but Jesus is an interesting person for sure!” We exchanged contact info and I invited him to come for at least a service. Please pray for the Holy Spirit to work in his heart. An interaction like that reminds me once again of the urgency of the hour and the need to continue to preach the Gospel!
August 7 is fast approaching. It has been a whirlwind of activity in getting everything prepared for Victory Baptist Church. While we had hoped to start the moving process to Pinda already, so far, God hasn’t opened that door. We are working to purchase a home there and as of yet, we’re still waiting on legal documentation to be finalized. Lord willing, once we have this in hand, we should be able to proceed with the purchase. Please pray for this personal aspect. With Jamie almost 35 weeks along, it’s been a wonderful time to once again be reminded that He’s in control and we can and must trust Him! Thankfully, everything with the pregnancy continues healthy and strong. Please continue to pray for both Jamie and Silas as May quickly approaches!
It’s been wonderful to have Bro. Jonathan alongside working with us full-time now. Please continue to pray for him as we press on for Christ. Lord willing, next week we will be closing on a rental facility for the church. It’s about 4300ft2 and has ample space for several classrooms, a nursery, office, auditorium, fellowship area, and a kitchen. We are in the final stages of the contract prep. We are so excited to be able to get in and begin the needed reforms for Victory Baptist Church. With this in mind, I’ll begin sending a list of the needs that we have as a church. We praise the Lord for several churches that have already given for the set-up costs. If you’d like to get involved, please don’t hesitate to get in contact with us directly.
We praise the Lord for His undeserved grace and care in our lives. Let’s keep striving together for the Gospel until He comes! We love you and remember you often in prayer.
