June 2018 update

God has been so good to us. June was once again a busy month. We were in 10 different churches plus our home church’s youth conference. While we put many more miles on the car, we praise the Lord for now being at 32% of our needed support coming in. Every supporting church is one step closer to our calling being made a reality.

One of the highlights in June was to be in Illinois at a regional Revival Fires Conference. It was a blessing to be with several pastors and hear challenging and encouraging messages. Many times on deputation it becomes easy to get so focused on traveling and the “busy-ness” of it all that we lose sight of what’s important. It was certainly a vital reset for us.

As we’ve mentioned several times before, we’ll be leaving for our survey trip on August 9. There is still so much to do and it has been a wonderful time as we’ve been planning and preparing for Brazil. In light of this I had the opportunity to meet with Bro. and Mrs. Bryan Johnson, second generation missionaries in Brazil, and discuss the great need and their burden for Brazil. It was such an encouragement to get to know them. That is part of our desire for this survey trip. We’ve been praying that the Lord would show us in His time exactly who we’re to work with during our first term.

Our desire is to go to Brazil and stay for years to come and serve Him. We know that many obstacles will undoubtedly arise. We desire to be as prepared to allow God to do a work through us. Learning the language, adapting to the culture, and experiencing practical ministry with a veteran missionary are all vital parts of seeing this goal accomplished. God has been so good to us. As we’ve taken a step of faith, God has opened more doors. I’ve heard it said recently that “Direction obeyed is more direction given.” We praise the Lord for His guiding. Would you join us in prayer that the next steps will become very evident as we pray, counsel, and continue to walk by faith?

Please be in prayer for Brazil at this time. As I was talking to Bro. Johnson, he mentioned to me how he truly believes that Brazil is at a tipping point. There is a national election this fall that could be a turning point in many ways. Pray that the Gospel would continue to go forth with free course and that hearts would be receptive to His Word.

Thank you for your faithful and loving support. You all have been such an encouragement to us in ways that truly only Heaven will reveal. We love you all.
