What a time October and November were! I do apologize for not getting a letter out in November. Here we are in December. We trust you all had a great Thanksgiving and will have a wonderful Christmas. We truly have so much for which to be grateful. These letters are feeble attempts to praise the Lord for His goodness and blessing in our lives. We love you all and appreciate your constant prayer, consideration, and sacrifice on our behalf.
October was a busy month starting off with our Children’s Day. It was a blessing to be able to host a special time of games, treats and a Bible lesson. Several kids came for the first time and heard the Gospel. One of these kids was the nephew of Anderson and Ana–an unsaved couple that’s been coming for several months now. They too heard the Gospel. They have not yet made a decision, but I know the Holy Spirit is working in their hearts. A few weeks after Ana told me that her dad was not well and had requested a visit. I met Fernando and Penha in their home and I had the opportunity to present the Gospel. Once again, Anderson and Ana heard the Gospel. Please pray for them and Ana’s parents. Staunchly Catholic, they’ve never put their trust alone in Christ. The Lord has given us an open door and we are trusting Him to save them soon!
One of the greatest blessings from Children’s Day was seeing the church’s involvement with the activity. Everyone jumped in and served in so many ways and it was wonderful to see. This same spirit continued right into our Day of the Dead on November 2. We were able to have 12 people out for most or all of the day at the city cemetery handing out John and Romans. We were able to give out nearly 3,000 and we gave away 27 Bibles as well. Each Bible was accompanied with a Gospel witness and contact for the church. Claudio received a Bible and then had called Bro. Celestino’s prayer line. He heard the Gospel but did not make any decision that I am aware of. Please be in prayer for this man’s salvation – also for Maria’s. I have never met her but she visited her dying brother in a distant city and visited another church. The pastor sent me her info and I have been in contact with her. She has not accepted a visit nor visited the church, but we are praying that the Lord would work in her heart and that we could be a blessing to her.
It was a blessing in November to have my parents with us for a few weeks. Even though it was extremely hot and the boys got sick, we had a wonderful time with them. Another big blessing in November was Jonata and Karlene were married. We have been anticipating this event and the Lord blessed with a wonderful time. Please pray for this young couple as they continue to seek the Lord and serve Him!
We will be bringing more news to you in the coming months but we are planning a furlough starting in August of 2024. It’s hard to believe that we’ve been on the field for nearly 4 years already! We have many churches we have not seen in 5-7 years and I believe it’s time for us to come and report. I will be sending out more specific details soon, but please be in prayer for us as we begin the planning of coming to the States and for the work here while we’re gone. August seems like a long ways off, but it will be here before we know it. Thanks again for your love, support and encouragement. May the Lord bless you all and have a merry Christmas!
All for Christ,
