On Thursday, February 13, just after 10:00 AM local time, we landed safely in Brazil. I cannot even begin to describe how many ways the Lord proved Himself true and faithful. From all 46 pieces of checked luggage arriving on time and intact, to the grace in the plane ride down, it was awesome to know that so many very distinct and evident requests we had been praying for were answered and cared for. We were greeted at the airport by the Johnsons and able to make it to Taubaté and get going right away. There is so much paperwork to be completed, but praise the Lord, Bro. Ed Johnson has been an indescribable help and blessing in getting us situated and settled. We stayed with Bro. Dan and Mrs. Gerri Johnson while we were waiting for housing. Again, their gracious help in opening their home to us has been invaluable. Even though we have been very busy, there is still much to do. And, even though we have been very busy with all the logistics of getting settled, we have been able already to jump in and be involved with ministry. The church has been such a blessing to us and so patient with our language deficiency. We were able to take part in their first annual Carnaval family camp. This was a wonderful time for us to get to know the church and see their heart for reaching Taubaté and Brazil. The theme was “Maybe Today” and I had the opportunity to preach twice. I’ve been able to become the church pianist. The church recently started a choir and so that’s been exciting to play for that. I have been able to go out soul winning several times and as we’ve been conducting business Bro. Johnson has had several opportunities to share the Gospel. What a joy it is to be in the greatest work for the Only Saviour!
Lord willing we will begin language school in 2 weeks. Please continue to pray for us as we continue to settle in and begin the great task ahead of language acquisition! Thank you for your continued love and prayer for our family.
