One of the joys of being here in Taubaté has been how the Lord has worked in our hearts as much as others’. In the midst of all the craziness that has been COVID, I’m constantly made aware of how easy it is to get our eyes on other “solutions” to our problems. Rather than focusing on God’s Word, prayer, and His Spirit, it becomes very tempting to trust our ability to get His Work done.
I was able to make a visit with Eliane and Marcos right before we left for furlough. This couple has been coming to church for a few years but never has been super faithful. Lainey and I were able to visit with them and encourage them in the Lord and being faithful. Please pray for this home. God is working in their lives.
Another joy was to be able to visit with Gabriel and Poliana and their boys right before we left for the States. I have been discipling with Gabriel for several months now and it’s been a joy to watch him grow and lead his family in God’s Word. Just after we left they became members of New Life. What a joy to see this family continue to grow and mature! Please continue to pray for them.
You may remember me mentioning a young man named Augusto several times. Please pray for the Lord to work in his heart. He recently went into the military and now is away from godly influences in his life. I have been in contact with him since he left and he definitely needs to make right decisions. In addition to this, his mom and family will be moving from Taubaté this month and he’s very discouraged about that. Continue to pray for Alessandra, Valdecir, Ana, and Augusto.
We arrived back in Chicago on October 29th and we’ll be here until the end of January. We will be traveling to several new and supporting churches. Please pray that we stay healthy, safe, and have wisdom in traveling and time with family and our home church.
Perhaps the most exciting piece of news that I can share personally is that the Lord has blessed us with another child. Jamie is due at the end of May and so far she has been healthy and well. Please pray for protection for her and the baby.
Work continues on our discipleship material translation and planning for the work in Pinda. We have several churches that are planning on visiting us next year to help with John and Romans, tract, and flyer distribution. Please pray for each endeavor and that the Gospel would continue forward during these exciting days.
We trust you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving! We’re so thankful to be able to serve the Lord together with you in Brazil. We love you all and pray for you often.
Love in Christ,
Keith, Jamie, Elaina, & Clayton Putnam
