At a missions conference near the start of September, I had the opportunity to go soulwinning with the pastor. We met a young lady in her early 20s named Jo. As I began to share the Gospel with her, it was apparent that the Lord had been working on her heart. She told us how she and her boyfriend had just found out that they were expecting a baby. I am so thankful that I grew up in a Christian home. I am so thankful that I heard the Gospel even from an early age. However, I was reminded once again that there are so many that have never heard, and the need for the Lord is so great. This is why we go. Jesus saw the multitudes as a sheep having no shepherd. They were completely lost and aimless. In a world searching for hope, I am thankful that God’s Word has the answers to our deepest fears and greatest challenges.
The third quarter, and September in particular, was extremely busy. Looking ahead to the next few weeks, our schedule remains very full. We are making our ‘final’ loop through Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Missouri. God has blessed us with several churches that have allowed us to stay in the missions houses, saving us money and time in traveling. This trip will be about 5 weeks. Starting mid-November up until Christmas we will be in meetings closer to home in Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan. We are thankful for the thousands and thousands of miles that we have safely traveled thus far. We recently had several additional churches indicate that they would partner with us. We are getting extremely close to fulfilling our financial goals.
We also began the initial process for our visas. This is really the next big step in our arrival to Brazil. We will begin the paper work submission the first week of November. Please join us in prayer about our visas. There is a lot of paper work, interviews, and time involved. Please pray that we would have all our necessary documents, that we are able to see the right people, and that our visas would be approved quickly.
A couple of weeks ago I got a call from a veteran missionary couple who asked about needs we currently had. He said they wanted to be a blessing and told me that they would be sending $1000 for our setup fund. This is a huge blessing! Once again we were humbled by the goodness of God to us through his people. Thank you for your investment in our lives and ministry. We’ve had so many contact us in the last few weeks and let us know that they’re praying for us. Money will only get us so far; it’s the prayers of God’s people that will ultimately make the difference. Truly, without your prayer we could not move forward for Christ. We are coming into a season where your prayer and intercession are needed now more than ever.
Love in Christ,
