October 2021 | Praise and Prayer Update

September marked the 6th anniversary of New Life Baptist Church. A few months ago 60,000 John and Romans arrived here in Taubaté and a few weeks ago a team of 21 people from the US came. We were able to distribute over 40,000 John and Romans and invites here in the city. Bro. Allen Johnson preached the anniversary conference. There were many decisions for Christ and many heard the Gospel for the first time. Please continue in prayer for fruit that remains from this endeavor. The seed was planted. God gives the increase.

While Bro. Allen was here, I had the opportunity to talk with him about our future plans for Pinda and the material printing/shipping needs that we have. Bro. Jonata and I have been working to develop/translate material. Please pray for the Lord to bless this work and that the details for having this much-needed material would be worked out.

Continue in prayer for Néca and Lucas. I had a visit scheduled with them 2 weeks ago but at the last minute, they were unable to receive me. Please continue to pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to break down barriers and soften their hearts toward the Gospel.

It’s been a joy to continue in discipleship with Gabriel. Both his wife and oldest son are currently discipling with others in the church. God has done such a wonderful work in their hearts and lives and it’s challenging to see their hunger for the Word of God.

While we were out soul-winning a few weeks ago I had the opportunity to witness to Leandro who lives just a few doors down from the church. While he didn’t make a decision for Christ he promised that he would come. He has not yet and I’m praying to make further contact with him before we leave.
Several months ago Jamie and I were able to start the King’s Kids scripture memory program here at New Life. We’ve had on average 15 kids coming each Wednesday evening and it’s a thrill to see them rise to the challenge of memorizing God’s Word. We’ve already had 4 kids complete their first level. We hope that this will be something that the church can use long after we’re gone to help hide God’s Word in young, tender hearts.

Believe it or not, we’ll be leaving for the US on the 28th. Please pray for our flights and COVID-19 testing. We are certainly excited to see family, be in our home church, and visit other churches. We will be stateside for 3 months. Please pray for us that we are able to attend to all that we need while we are there.

We love you all dearly in the Lord and pray for you weekly. We are so honored to be co-laborers together with you for the sake of the Gospel!

Keith, Jamie, Elaina, & Clayton Putnam
