Praise the Lord for one more opportunity to relate what the Lord is doing here. It’s hard to believe that our time here in Taubaté is quickly drawing to a close. When I reflect on all that the Lord’s allowed us to experience over the past year and a half, it’s wonderful to recall His faithfulness, grace, and blessing.
August was another busy month. One of the joys that I had was to begin discipling Gabriel. He and his family were baptized just a few weeks ago and it’s been amazing to watch the Lord work in their hearts and lives. Please pray that Lord would continue working in this precious family.
I had the opportunity to visit with Lucas and Néca as well. Néca is the sister of one of the faithful men in the church. He’s been burdened for his family most of whom are lost. We began the conversation and it became readily apparent that Lucas was not yet willing to listen to the Gospel. I spent nearly 2 hours with them showing them from God’s Word the truth of our condition as sinners. Unfortunately, we seemed unable to get past this crucial point. They have visited the church several times since that visit. Please pray with me that the Holy Spirit would work on their hearts and that they would be ready to receive Christ as their Saviour.
August marked the return of another semester of Bible college. I was asked to teach a class on cults for several weeks. Teaching in a formal setting like Bible college is not something I’ve done much, but I enjoyed the opportunity to share how God’s Word truly has the answer for man’s deepest needs and hurts.
Our planning, praying, and counseling for our next step continues. We will be starting to work in Pindamonhangaba (henceforth Pinda) in March of 2022. We certainly covet your prayer for souls, open doors, wisdom, and direction in the days ahead. Bro. Jonathan will be finishing Bible college in January and we’re excited how the Lord has allowed us to partner with him. We’re praying that Victory Baptist Church in Pinda would be a church that would honor the Savior, reach sinners, and edify saints. There is so much to be decided and done. We’re truly excited. We know that Satan wants nothing more than to defeat, discourage, and distract us even in these nascent stages of the church.
We will be coming back for a short furlough this November until January of 2022. If there’s any way that we can serve you while we are stateside please do not hesitate to reach out. We appreciate your prayer and financial sacrifice to see the Gospel go forward here in Brazil.
Love in Christ,
Keith, Jamie, Lainey, & Clayton Putnam
